Recent Garden Projects in South East London

A look at some of the gardens we've worked on lately, from new planting and steel-edged borders to clearances, lawn repairs and hedge work. Every job is done by our own small, fully insured team, and we take all the waste away.

Borders Dug Out & Steel-Edged, Back Bed Removed

A three-person job. We dug out both side borders, laid long runs of steel edging and broke out an old 3m x 3m raised bed at the back. The new borders were planted with echinacea, heuchera, verbena and lavender, then mulched to hold moisture and keep weeds down.

Shed Removed, Borders Replanted & Steel Veg Beds

A full back-garden overhaul. We took down the old shed, cleared every bed back to bare soil and replanted two of them. The third became three raised vegetable beds built in EverEdge steel, set in a gravel surround with a steel edge to the lawn.

Clearance, New Turf & Gravel Path

segc-clearance-turf-before-after.jpg

An overgrown, uneven back garden cleared and levelled, with fresh turf, an edged gravel path along the border and new planting. All the waste taken away, and the lawn striped and watered in on the day.

Spring Bulb Trench

A long trench dug along a steel-edged border and planted with layered tulips and daffodils. Planting in a trench rather than dotting bulbs about gives a fuller, more natural drift of colour in spring.

Drought-Damaged Lawn Repair

segc-lawn-overseed.jpg

This summer's drought left the lawn thin, patchy and bare in places. We spot-seeded the worst patches, top-dressed the whole lawn with fresh topsoil and overseeded it in autumn, so the new grass knits in evenly.

Conifer Hedge Height Reduction

segc-hedge-reduction-before-after.jpg

An overgrown conifer hedge that was taking the light from the garden, reduced by about six feet and cut back to a flat top with straight faces. All the cuttings taken away and the garden got its light back.

Communal Hedges, Residential Block

segc-commercial-hedge.jpg

Communal hedges for a residential block, kept neat and clipped on a regular schedule so the grounds look cared for all year round. Part of our ongoing grounds maintenance for managed properties.

Mediterranean Bed with Olive & Palms

A long, empty raised bed backfilled with fresh topsoil and planted with a characterful olive tree, a plaited bay and a row of fan palms, then finished in Cotswold buff gravel. Low maintenance and good-looking all year.

Steel-Edged Borders & Perennials

segc-steel-edging.jpg

Borders that had lost their shape were recut with new curved lines and steel edging, then planted with echinacea, heuchera and verbena and mulched with bark. Crisp edges that save time on every mow.

Grounds Maintenance, Residential Block

segc-block-maintenance.jpg

Regular grounds maintenance for a residential block. We keep the beds, borders and entrance planting tidy, clear leaves and weeds, and check everything is looking its best for residents all year round.

Overgrown Garden Cut Back & Borders Reclaimed

segc-overgrown-garden-before-after.jpg

A long back garden that had got away from its owners. We cut back the overgrowth along both fences, cleared and dug over the borders, cut a clean edge back to the lawn and took every bit of green waste away.
