Our Vision
Our vision is to become the most trusted name in garden care and grounds maintenance across Bexley, Bexleyheath Chislehurst, Orpington, Sidcup and the wider South East London area. We want to raise the standard for local gardening services by delivering tidy finishes, clear communication, and dependable, year-round support for both residential and commercial clients. As we grow, our focus stays the same: keep improving, keep learning and keep delivering outdoor work we’re proud to put our name to.
About Us: How We Work
Our mission is to be the grounds maintenance team that offices, schools, managing agents and housing estates can rely on year after year, and the gardener homeowners recommend to their neighbours. That means regular scheduled visits, tidy finishes and clear communication, alongside tree work, hedge cutting, clearances, planting and landscaping. No shortcuts, no overpromising. Just solid, consistent workmanship that leaves every space looking better than when we arrived.

Know Me
I’m Matthew, the person behind South East Green Care, and I started it for one reason: to do outdoor work properly. No shortcuts, no excuses, no disappearing acts. Just solid graft, clear communication and real pride in leaving every space better than I found it.
My training has taken me to some pretty special places. I earned my RHS Level 2 in Practical Horticulture (with Merit) in the historic grounds of Hever Castle in Kent, and gained my City & Guilds / NPTC chainsaw and tree-climbing certificates with Scott Fraser Training. I’m now studying Level 3 Advanced Landscaping at Capel Manor College.
Away from work you’ll usually find me outdoors too: ice-climbing frozen waterfalls in Norway, planning the next adventure, or firing up the BBQ for friends and family. Being fit, comfortable at height and properly trained makes all the difference when I’m up a tree in your garden.
What you’ll get from me is simple: honesty, reliability and a job done right. If you want someone who turns up, gets on with it and leaves things tidy, that’s exactly what I’m here for.

RHS at Hever Castle
RHS Level 2 Certificate in Practical Horticulture, awarded with Merit. Trained hands-on in the historic gardens at Hever Castle in Kent: planting, pruning, soil and plant care done the proper way.
Capel Manor College
Currently studying Level 3 Advanced Landscaping at Capel Manor, one of the UK’s leading land-based colleges. Design, levels, paving, edging and planting schemes built to last, not just to look good on day one.
City & Guilds Arborist
City & Guilds / NPTC certified through Scott Fraser Training: chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting, felling small trees, and using a chainsaw from a rope and harness. Also trained in tree climbing and aerial rescue.

Beyond the Day Job
When I’m not up a tree or out on a job, I’m still outside. A few things that keep me fit, steady at height and happy.

Ice-Climbing in Norway
Frozen waterfalls, ropes and ice axes. Ice-climbing keeps me fit, calm and completely at home at height, which comes in handy when I’m working up a tree.

Fire Up the BBQ
Low and slow ribs, a bag of charcoal and good company. If the sun’s out at the weekend, the BBQ’s going on. Same rule as work: take your time and do it properly.

Camping & Road Trips
Throw the tent in the truck, find a field with a view and switch off. Getting outdoors is how I recharge, and I bring that same energy back to every garden.
